What is SuperSleeper made of?
Fibre-reinforced polymer is a composite material made from polymer matrix reinforced with fibres. The fibres are usually glass, carbon, aramid or basalt.
What is the weight of a sleeper?
The 2350mm long sleeper is 5.55kg the 1950mm sleeper is less than 7kgs!
How long will the product last?
The life span can expect to reach 100 years, this is providing that product has been installed and maintained correctly.
What are the limitations to the product with construction?
There is very little you can’t do with SuperSleeper, the ideal heights achieved are up to 1.6m in height. Remember all walls over 1.0m require an engineer and council approval regardless
How will it handle the Australian sun?
SuperSleeper already contains UV resistant properties, however if maintained the product will last 100 years.
Will it be damaged with something like a Whipper Snipper?
No, the product easily can withstand the impact of a whipper snipper
Does it come in any other colours?
No, however the product is very easily painted by simply preparing with a medium grade sand paper and applying an exterior paint (no primer required).
What environmental advantages are there?
SuperSleeper is a more sustainable alternative, accounting for up to 75% less Co2 emissions in manufacturing process than traditional materials.
Has the product been tested?
Yes, SuperSleeper has been independently tested through a NATA approved laboratory as well as QUT (Queensland University of Technology)
Is the product better than concrete sleepers?
Yes, SuperSleeper is a more durable, sustainable and cost-effective solution for retaining walls. Specifically with a design to withstand long-term deflection, making SuperSleeper resistant to bows and deterioration over time.
Can the product be used for retaining wall heights in excess of 1m high?
Yes, Supersleeper has published technical guides for engineers to use for walls greater than 1m.
What is the warranty?
Supersleeper warrants the product for 35 years.
